IT Systems Administrator
Contract-to-Hire | Ann Arbor, Michigan
Under limited supervision, this role involves configuring, managing, and administering computer systems, networks, and storage environments. Responsibilities include resolving user issues, maintaining enterprise systems, and supporting overall IT architecture and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and upgrade system software, security tools, and configurations.
- Administer Windows Server (2012R2-2019), Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, Office365, and related technologies.
- Monitor and manage system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
- Configure and monitor security controls using Microsoft and Azure Active Directory.
- Oversee backup, recovery processes, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Troubleshoot and provide Level 2/3 technical support.
- Perform network switch and firewall administration.
- Document infrastructure, networks, and cabling layouts.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Install and troubleshoot network equipment and monitor performance.
- Administer wireless infrastructure, VPN, and other network devices.
- Support LAN, WAN, and CAN environments and manage network changes.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in system and network administration.
- Certifications such as CompTIA, MCTS, MCSE, or OCA are preferred.
- Proficient in diagnostics, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
